Project Objective:
To Create a New User Experience for product selection for new users

Description:
RealSmart Product provides smart & simple way to undertake Online Conveyancing of Property Transactions for the Real Estate Business in New Zealand.

Challenges:

  1. My challenge was to make this product features more accessible to everyone and to have more control on the design.
  2. Determining if users could easily explore the product from the navigation bar
  3. Learning if search & find tasks could be accomplished easily
  4. Eliciting feedback on the site’s visual appear

Prototyping Process: Designing the user experience for the FeverPtich Exchange product involved the combination of Five major activities in a prototyping process:

  1. Paper Prototyping (Low Level), HTML Mocks,PPT (Hi Level )
  2. Design iterations, Implementation of design sketches
  3. Usability evaluation of prototype

Benefits:

  • Enhanced customer experience with Improved competitive response time
  • Enhanced brand presentation
  • Improved productivity

Design / Navigation Strategy

  • The designs were created on the basis of defined strategy and branding requirements.
  • Various combinations of page layouts, and fonts and colors were created and compared.
  • The color was used to meaningfully group information as also guide users eyes to the right information.
  • The layouts allowed for proper structuring and grouping of information and varied with respect to page requirements.
  • From a navigation perspective a non-linear navigating model was constructed, giving the flexibility navigating to any information point in the website from anywhere. This was achieved by building a global navigation, which remain constant and accessible across the website.

Through a series of iterations, a final design was freezed to go ahead with development. The HTML creation was done with various usability considerations.

One of the key usability considerations was adherence to W3C guidelines for making the sites accessible to entire range of audience including people with disabilities.

  • Internal stakeholder interviews
  • Designing web site by implementing quality approach
  • Optimizing visual design and concepts for the web environment
  • Created Style Guide for the entire product and had a control of entire layout
  • Iconography, Dialog Boxes and Global Look-and-Feel
  • Restructured the content elements of web applications to be object-oriented, reusable modules in JSP, replacing redundant code and static html pages.
  • Created User Interface Specifications Package

The Solution: With innovative use of colour and imagery, the new product met all expectations.  Attractive visuals and clearly defined sections, titles, heads ensure an unrivalled user experience.

From the user’s perspective, the site is easy to navigate and the search function with filters ensures that results are tailored to a specific set of criteria.
