I employ a collaborative process whereby I work intimately with the client specs. By working closely together, we are able to clearly identify the vision and goals of the site for creating an intelligent, well-designed product that focuses on the needs of the audience.

SDLC Process ...
Project Exploration
gather, clarify, define

During this phase I spend time learning about the company, the audience demands, as well as the strengths and limitations of the current site or product if available. I focus on the client's current needs, the competition and future opportunities for growth. My goal is to develop a level of expertise in the client's business, which allows me to develop a solid strategy for the site or product and an understanding of the value it may have to the user. Additionally, I review the associated marketing collateral and what effect it can have on the Web. The client is then provided with a detailed site map outlining the structure of the site.

I will take the time to actively listen to the company needs and requirements. This will include telephone meetings, email exchanges, instant messaging, face-to-face meetings, and surveys.

Methods that can be Employed
  • Needs Assessment
  • Interviewing
  • Technology Evaluation

Project Design
concept, design, construct

Using the creative brief as a guideline, a series of design comps are presented via a project site setup for each client. I work with my clients to produce design concepts specifically focused on user-centered issues and solutions. My aim is to design for your audience. At this point I build out selected comps and begin the process of content collection and review.

Methods that can be Employed
  • Content Analysis

Prototyping and Testing
build, test, launch

This is where all the pieces come together to start building out the final deliverables. Well-defined HTML standards are put in place and templates are developed using Photoshop / Image ready. A staging site is created for the client's review during this process. I closely scrutinize all aspects of the implementation.

Will create a functional prototype that addresses functional requirements. The prototype will be tested through one-on-one usability tests, surveys, and focus groups.

Methods that can be Employed

  • Usability Testing
  • Focus Groups
  • Participant Observation

Evaluation
critique, evaluation, maintain

This stage provides us an opportunity to seek feedback from our audience and measure the effectiveness and success of the new launch. When the templates are approved by the clients with changes if any, the templates are then converted top html and based on these data, further development and changes are made to ensure effective usability of the site. Finally, l try to deliver a production style guide that includes all the information necessary for effectively managing the site.

Will evaluate findings from the testing phase and identify directions for enhancements and additional features to add to the application or website.

Deployment
Deployment is about making the software product available to the end-user, and is the culmination of the software development effort.
